Everyday counting tools: how many days until (or since) a date, and how many characters and words are in your text.
Two ways to count days
Date math often comes out one day apart depending on whether the first day counts.
- Exclusive (end − start): tomorrow is 1 day away. Used for countdowns, deadlines and hotel nights.
- Inclusive (both ends count): Monday through Friday is 5 days. Used for streaks, “day 1” challenges and event durations.

Characters, words and bytes
Social posts, SMS messages and search snippets all have length limits, and they are not always counted the same way. The character counter shows characters with and without spaces, words, sentences, UTF-8 bytes and SMS parts, and compares your text with typical limits such as 280 for X and about 160 for a meta description.
Privacy
Text you type into the character counter never leaves your browser. Dates entered in the day calculator are sent to our calculation server only to compute the result and are not stored there. “Today” is taken from your own device’s date.
