The PDF jobs that come up with job applications, visa paperwork and government forms. No sign-up, no install, and your files are never sent to a server – everything runs in your browser.
PDF tools that don't upload your files
Most online PDF sites upload your file to their servers, process it there and send it back. The PDF tools on this site download the processing code (pdf-lib and pdf.js) to your browser and do the work on your device only. Tax returns, bank statements, contracts and passport scans are never transmitted or stored anywhere, and there is no upload to wait for.
Because the work uses your device's memory, on a phone we recommend files under about 100 MB each; very large files are more reliable on a computer.
Which tool do I need?
- A portal accepts only one file – combine your documents with Merge PDF
- You need only some pages, or the file is over an upload limit – use Split PDF
- A form accepts only JPG or PNG – convert with PDF to JPG
- You have phone photos of documents and need a PDF on Letter or A4 pages – use Image to PDF
What these tools don't do
- No PDF compression. Most of a PDF's size is the images inside it, and shrinking it properly means re-compressing each one. That can't be done with dependable quality in a browser, and the shortcut of turning every page into a picture makes text unsearchable and often makes the file bigger – so we left it out. To get under an upload limit, split the file or shrink photos before converting them.
- Password-protected (encrypted) PDFs can't be processed. If you know the password, remove the protection in your PDF viewer and save a new copy.
- Merging or splitting invalidates digital signatures, and fillable form fields or bookmarks may not be carried over.
