Plan borrowing and saving with currency-neutral calculators: monthly loan payments, total interest and savings growth.
Interest works the same in any currency
Both calculators take plain numbers, so you can use dollars, euros, pounds or any other currency and read the results in the same unit. Results are calculated to two decimal places. Country-specific items such as mortgage insurance, property tax escrow or tax allowances are not included, so treat the results as planning estimates.
Borrowing: how you repay changes the total interest
For the same amount, rate and term, an amortized (fixed-payment) loan, an equal-principal loan and an interest-only loan can differ by hundreds of thousands in total interest on a large mortgage. The loan calculator compares all three at once and shows the full amortization schedule, including an optional interest-only period at the start.
Saving: simple vs. compound interest
Monthly compounding earns interest on interest, which is why banks quote an APY slightly above the nominal rate. The savings calculator handles both lump-sum deposits and monthly savings plans, and lets you apply your own tax rate to the interest.
